This functionality is combined with two Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect wired devices indoors without additional cabling. Zigbee or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) are also supported. The Unleashed Access Point does not require a dedicated controller to create and manage a WLAN network. Instead, one of the APs acts as a master, taking on the functions of a controller and managing the other APs as members. The unleashed access points are suitable for smaller WLAN deployments where only a small number of access points are required. Leashed access points, on the other hand, require an external controller, such as a ZoneDirector or a SmartZone, to create and manage a WLAN network. The Leashed APs are suitable for larger WLAN deployments where a large number of APs are required.
