The FortiGate/FortiWifi 70G series integrates firewalling, SD-WAN and security functions in a single device. This makes it ideal for building secure networks in distributed enterprise locations and transforming WAN architectures of any size. The 70G Series is powered by FortiOS, the industry's first converged network and security operating system. This convergence enables organisations to efficiently and optimally secure today's dynamic digital infrastructures.
As a core component of the Fortinet Security Fabric platform, the FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) works seamlessly with FortiGuard AI-powered security services to deliver real-time, coordinated, automated and end-to-end threat protection solutions.
The 70G family is based on the patented SD-WAN ASIC, which offers unrivalled performance at lower cost and reduced power consumption compared to traditional CPUs. This application-specific design and the integrated multi-core processor further accelerate the convergence of network and security functions in the 70G family to optimise secure connections and ensure a robust user experience at remote sites.
A component of every FortiGate firewall is, among others, the free use of IPSec and SSL VPN. Here the free FortiClient VPN can be used as VPN client. Instructions for setting up the VPN can be found in the FortiGate CookBook, among other places.
Thanks to the Fortigate VDOM functionality, you have the option of making your firewall multi-tenant. Thus, you can operate your own firewalls for different departments in a very granular way.
With the Fortinet Support (included as FortiCare in every license bundle), you get the possibility to contact the manufacturer directly in case of problems or questions. Among other things, this support license is also necessary for obtaining and downloading firmware updates.
