Ruckus Networks Unleashed 200.8 - 128 APs without dedicated controller

With Unleashed, Ruckus offers the possibility of managing multiple access points in a WLAN network without the need for a separate WLAN controller.

With the 200.8 update, Unleashed will even enable up to 128 access points in a network and manage up to 2,048 endpoints in the network.

The prerequisite for this is that only access points that support at least 802.11ac Wave 2 are used. Please note that the access point that functions as a WLAN controller is still available as an access point, but can only handle up to 100 clients. Therefore, choose an access point in a less heavily frequented location.

Existing networks based on Unleashed can of course be expanded as long as all access points are at least 802.11ac Wave 2 capable.

With Unleashed 200.8 you can now also manage and monitor all Ruckus switches of the 7000 series. These must have FastIron firmware version 8.0.90 or newer.
This makes it even easier to set up, monitor and expand your network.

Additionally, you can now set up URL filters. This allows you to block known malware and phishing websites and protect users better and easier.

Thanks to WPA3, you can also use Unleashed to secure your network with the latest options. This makes your WLAN more secure and harder to attack.

Ruckus is also aware of the GDPR and offers tools for easy provisioning and deletion of data covered by the GDPR.

With the Unleashed Multi-Site Manager (UMM) you can also conveniently monitor and manage multiple Unleashed, but also ZoneDirector based networks.
