F-series FortiWiFis now also available

In mid-September 2019, the FortiWiFi 30E as well as the FortiWiFi 50E and FortiWiFi 51E were no longer available for sale due to an EU directive coming into force. As a result, apart from the FortiWiFi 60E and FortiWiFi 61E, which are still available today, no FortiGate firewalls with integrated WiFi functionality were available for SMEs. As an alternative to the FWF-60E/61E, the most that could be used was a normal FortiGate together with a FortiAP, which, however, could not match the price efficiency of the FortiWiFi devices.

Now, after releasing the FortiGate 60F and FortiGate 61F late last year and the FortiGate 40F in spring 2020, Fortinet has finally followed up with new F-series FortiWiFis: The FortiWiFi 40F as well as the FortiWiFi 60F and FortiWiFi 61F are now available in our shop!

As with the FortiWiFi units of the E-series, normal FortiGate and FortiWiFi units are identical in construction, with the exception of the WiFi functionality that gives them their name. This means that the FortiWiFi 40F, like its non-WiFi counterpart, has an ASIC SOC4 chip for blazing fast NGFW and Deep SSL Inspection performance. According to the FWF-40F datasheet, the Threat Protection throughput is quintupled when all security features are enabled, and the SSL VPN throughput is even more than ten times higher than the FortiWiFi 30E.

FortiGate 4200F - New high-end FortiGate announced

But it's not just the SME segment that has been expanded with new FortiGates: enterprise customers will also be offered a new FortiGate: The FortiGate 4200F and FortiGate 4201F offer high scalability and optimised performance with high-speed networking. Enterprises and providers can manage all security risks with the industry's best IPS, SSL inspection and threat protection capabilities. The FortiGate 4200F can be deployed at the enterprise edge, the hybrid and hyperscale data centre core and across internal segments. This series' multiple high-speed interfaces, high port density, superior security efficiency and high throughput keep your network connected and secure.

The FortiGate 4200F offers the industry's first compact hyperscalable firewall with HW-accelerated VXLAN and DDoS protection for security of very high throughput flows, known as elephant flows. In addition, the FortiGate 4200F has industry-unprecedented threat protection and SSL inspection performance in a compact 3U appliance. With uplinks in typical data centre designs moving to the combination of 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps, superior flexibility and reduced port and cable costs are achieved. Management interface redundancy and hot-swappable/redundant power supplies complete the package.
