Fortinet - Innovations Q3 2020: FortiGate 80F/81F

The FortiGate 80F Enterprise Firewall delivers next-generation SD-WAN, routing and firewall capabilities with a single management interface - for the industry's most reliable SD-WAN with protection against the most advanced security threats and targeted attacks. The FortiGate 80F is based on Fortinet SoC4 ASIC, a purpose-built integrated architecture that provides application visibility and routing with ultra-high throughput and exceptionally low latency, even for encrypted traffic, while delivering perfect security effectiveness and consolidation.

Designed for distributed enterprises, the FortiGate 80F Series offers the best option in this industry. With up to 10Gbps firewall throughput and 1.4 Gbps IPS throughput, the FortiGate 80F is the optimal solution for SMB enterprises. With 1Gbps NGFW and up to 1,500,000 simultaneous TCP/UDP connections, the FortiGate 80F is also ready for more demanding environments.

A 128 GB SSD hard disk is installed in the FortiGate 81F, otherwise both units are identical in construction. The FortiGate 80F/81F offers next-generation firewall features thanks to its high performance, security efficiency and transparency.

A FortiGate 80F bypass is also planned, but is not expected until the middle of Q3. This differs only slightly from the FortiGate 80F, however, except for a bypass port, which means that data or traffic can still be transmitted via the port if the unit fails. Excellent for areas where the flow of data is more critical than security.

Fortinet is also planning the FortiGate 4400F series. This is expected to be released later this year. There are already early technical data and first info on the models, but these are not yet final and could change by the time of release.
