Fortinet - FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager "free of charge" as of April

No, this is not an early April Fool's joke. Fortinet has announced that it will be discontinuing the FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager base licences with the new Q2 price list, which is due to be published at the beginning of April. These basic licences will then be replaced by a free trial with no time limit.

This will allow every Fortinet customer to set up a FortiAnalyzer as a VM and process up to 1GB of logs per day. With FortiManager as a VM, you can then manage up to three devices or VDOMs. At the same time, you always have the option of upgrading the trial via a licence if you have more logs or want to manage more devices/VDOMs.

Please note that after such an upgrade you can no longer go back to the trial. So if the licence expires, you will have to renew it, or the appliance will stop serving you. However, according to current knowledge, you can run an unlimited number of trials.
